The Basics

Playing online craps for cash is a lot easier than most people think. To start, let’s talk about the actual dice. If you’re playing the pass line, an opening roll of 7 or 11 automatically wins and a 2, 3, or 12 automatically loses. If you bet the “don’t pass” line then it would be just the opposite in terms of payouts. If the dice do not equal any of those five numbers on the first roll, then the shooter’s goal is to match his original roll before a seven appears.

If you’re new to playing online craps for cash, then your basic goal is to stick to these two bets at first- Pass or Don’t Pass. Each of them has only a slight house advantage and the wagers can be increased after every roll of the dice, so they are an excellent beginner’s bet that keeps you very close to 50/50 odds.

The Odds Bet

Okay, let’s kick it up a notch. Say that you’ve played the pass or don’t pass line for a little while and you’ve actually built up a little bit of profit. Now is probably a good time to move on to the next phase of the game- the odds bet. This wager is very similar to the pass line because you’re saying that the opening roll will be repeated before a seven is produced, but the hook is that online gambling establishments like Casino Titan pay you the actual odds of that bet occurring.

For a six or an eight to be repeated, the odds are 6:5. A five or a nine pays 3:2, and a four and a ten pays 2:1. Now, you can stick to the standard 1:1 payouts on the pass line (or the come line after the opening roll), but why would you essentially take even money when the house is willing to pay you real odds? The house advantage on odds bets is zero…they pay you the exact probability of the bet unfolding.

Every Other Bet

Now, you’ve probably noticed that there are more than a dozen other wagers available when you’re playing online craps for real cash and we’ve intentionally grouped all of them into one category for a reason. The overall house advantage in craps is less than 1.5% (making it one of the best bets in any casino) but all of the side bets carry much higher probabilities (up to 17%). Why on Earth would you place a wager with 9%or higher house odds when you could be betting without giving the casino an advantage?

In short, avoid every bet on the online craps table except the-

1) Pass Line
2) Don’t Pass Line
3) Come Line
4) Don’t Come Line
5) Odds Bets (also called, “laying the odds”)

As long as you stick to this strategy, playing online craps for cash can almost always be a profitable venture. Drifting away from it and betting the exotics is literally the true definition of gambling…you might win on occasion but most of the time you’ll lose.
